Welcome to Riddlesbrood! Kids, teens, adults, families, first-time performers and experienced actors are all invited to join us and experience the excitement of live theater. Twice a year, we host spectacular physical auditions for our grand mainstage productions Ages (For Ages 6+). they're not performing for 25 family friends, they're performing for hundreds of shoppers who came out for the village! For our touring shows, the journey begins by applying online and joining us to shadow a performance—immersing yourself in the magic firsthand!

🎭 Audition Announcement: “A Christmas Carol” Returns to Historic Smithville! 🎄 

 

We’re excited to announce auditions for this year’s holiday community theater production of “A Christmas Carol,” the main attraction at the Riddlesbrood Dickens Festival!

Performances will be held during Black Friday weekend, November 28th and 29th, 2026, in beautiful Historic Smithville, New Jersey. Your child performs for the Smithville holiday crowds — one of the largest audiences any young performer in South Jersey will get!

What to Expect at the Audition

Relax — this isn't a Broadway casting call! Our auditions are laid-back and beginner-friendly. If your child has a monologue they'd like to perform, great, we'd love to hear it. If not, no problem at all: we'll have short scripts (called "sides") on hand that they can look over and read from right there. No memorization, no preparation required. There's nothing to rehearse ahead of time and no experience necessary. We're a community theater focused on fun, friendship, and family — every kid who walks in nervous walks out smiling.
